1. Fiber helps fights diseases. A diet rich in fiber can help to prevent cancer of the colon and heart disease. A diet high fiber helps the body to eliminate cholesterol by binding it in the digestive tract and preventing it clog the arteries.

2. Fiber can actually help with dieting and overeating. All high fiber foods will take longer to chew and digest, making you feel fuller longer.

3. Most popular fast foods don’t have enough fiber. If you regularly eat fast foods r lots of fatty food, you probably need to increase your intake of fiber.

4. Grains, nuts, fruit and cereals offer the most fiber. Dietary fiber is actually plant matter that we cannot digest. The best sources of high fiber are whole grains and concentrated grain products. Foods that are low GI such as multigrain bread, Broccoli and carrots

5. Children need fiber in there diet as well. Children that are  2 years of age  or older should consume a regular daily intake of fiber. Kids are most receptive to fiber found in fruits, vegetables, and multigrain breads..

6. The more fiber you eat the more water you will need to drink. In order to keep fiber moving through your body, you’ll need to consume about 8 glasses of water a day.

7. Fiber does not disintegrate with cooking.  The fiber found in fruits and vegetables aren’t just in the skin or in the peel it is found through the whole fruit or vegetable..

8. Your body can only tolerate a certain amount of fiber daily. The average adult requires about 50 grams of fiber a day. To much fiber can cause  diarrhea and bloating, which can limit your body’s absorption of other key minerals and vitamins.

9. If you stick to foods that are low in GI it is not hard to get the right amount of fiber in your diet. If you eat fresh cooked or raw fruit, vegetables, and high grain cereals and breads it will not be hard to have a diet that has 50 grams of fiber in it.

10.A diet that’s high in fiber and water will help to prevent constipation as well.Adding fiber to your diet is an added way to stay regular.
